This feeder is the best I’ve had, and I have had a bunch. It has a huge capacity so you don’t have to fill it very often. It is almost impossible for squirrels to stand on and if they manage to get a foothold their weight closes the feeding ports so they can’t get anything. You can adjust it to exclude large birds such as starlings and grackles. When it needs to be cleaned you just put it in the dishwasher. When an especially crafty squirrel tried to chew it’s way in to my feeder I informed Brome about the damage and they sent me a replacement part for free! Squirrel busters have a lifetime warranty against squirrel damage. I have had mine for about 3 years and couldn’t be happier with it. If you only have one bird feeder in your life this should be the one.

This is the second Squirrel Buster feeder I’ve bought. I’ve had the first one for over five years and am replacing an old feeder (not a Squirrel Buster). This feeder is the best feeder made to discourage squirrels from emptying seed. Our area is loaded with squirrels and they have tried everything to get to the seed in the feeder, with no luck. One time they did damage the feeding ports in an attempt to get at the sunflower seeds and when I contacted the company, they sent me a new part at no charge. Another time these darned squirrels actually chewed on the metal lid and again, the company sent me a new part. I would not hesitate to recommend this feeder to anyone, especially if you are bothered by raiding squirrels. The feeder is well made and holds quite a bit of seed (I use sunflower seeds in it)and is very easy to clean. It is well worth the cost. The customer service I’ve received from this company is absolutely top-notch.

I own four of these; I am buying four more to use in the country. I’ve given eight of them as gifts. Simply put, THEY WORK. The squirrels have to go through such contortions to get to the food that they really are not a big problem anymore. You do have to take care in your placement, or the squirrels will hang onto a nearby fence or branch and feast away, but once placed properly, you’ll frustrate them!

I made sure to place it away from trees and platforms from which squirrels can jump from. I placed it near a small apple tree with branches that droop from too much weight. I have two gray squirrels and two red squirrels. I saw one gray squirrel put two feet on the feeding bar and the other two feet on the feeding station. It was able to feed for a long time. I haven’t seen any other squirrels do it again. I don’t know how the squirrel got there. I used a metal bird feeder pole, so the squirrel didn’t climb. Overall I really like the feeder. It holds so much seed that I don’t have to fill it too often. I have cardinals, chickadees, blue jays, downy woodpecker, hairy woodpecker, tufted titmouse, and various sparrows and finches.

This is a versatile product and a great value compared to similar products I have found. I put a seed feeder, hummingbird feeder and a decorative bird house on the three hooks. I didn’t use the bird bath because I already have one. You can use all of the incuded hooks and accesories or remove the ones you don’t need. This feeding station has made such a wonderful addition to our back yard! It was easy to assemble and set up, looks nice in the garden, and has attracted many birds. We hung two seed feeders and a hummingbird feeder. In the winter, I plan on replacing the hummingbird feeder with suet. I also like how the attachments (bird bath and seed tray) can be removed if you don’t plan on using them. I am very happy with the quality of this item for the price. And, since I read the product details carefully, I didn’t expect it to come with bird feeders…

I have two of this model and one of the old model with the plastic bottom that catches the seed. All three are the very best. They are definitely squirrel proof (but not raccoon proof!). We live in a natural setting so the bird seed dropping to the ground is not a problem. I’ve had the old model for at least 7 years and this SDC model for at least three. They not only last, but are easy to fill and clean.

The product is well made, has a great design. It allows the little birds to fly in and feed, keeping the large birds out. The only problem I had was somehow the squirrels got onto it (probably climbed up one of my taller plants near it) and tried to chew through the wire. So I had to move the pole over to an area in my garden that had only low growing plants. I also have in place a squirrel guard on the pole to keep the chipmunks and squirrels away. All is well now and the small birds can eat without being scared away. I also have to say that I like doing business with a company that stands behind their product. I called Droll Yankee twice regarding questions I had and both times I received professional, courteous service and support. I would not hesitate to buy another one of their products!

When I first got this birdfeeder, it cut my birdfeed bill by more than half. The squirrels had been draining my previous feeder almost daily. The feeder survived squirrels in 3 different states over the course of our various moves and did a wonderful job before finally meeting its end during a 60 mph wind gust. I obviously hadn’t fastened it well enough and it crashed into a boulder on its way down. It performed so well, however, I’m getting another!

I love the birds that come to my outdoor feeding station. I have multiple feeders out, depending on the time of year, but this unit is mounted to cedar post year round. I never had much of a squirrel problem, however, wite wing doves will raid any feeder with a platform. They are locked out of this one, but the Northern Cardinals can still enjoy it. I don’t know what is best about this thing. The 11 lbs of seed it holds, the steel construction or the fact that it only feeds from a single side, so I can point it at the house and not miss a bird. (Most of these weight sensitive feeders feed from two hoppers.)

I highly recomend this unit as the central piece of your bird feeding station. I have purchased over a dozen feeders, and none of them bring this entire group of features to the table.
